Charis Conn is a contributing editor of Harper's Magazine, and a freelance editor. Her short stories have appeared in The North American Review, New Letters, and in Harper’s Magazine where she edited fiction, non-fiction, and the Harper’s Index for twenty years. She has also taught writing at Syracuse University, New York’s Gotham Writers’ Workshop, and the Bread Loaf, Cape Cod, and Santa Barbara writers’ conferences, among others. She has been awarded four residencies at Yaddo, and spent a year on the Rockefeller Foundation’s Committee for the Arts and Humanities. Her first novel, Through the Green Fuse, will be published by Pantheon in 2010.
